History of the Library:

The Palo Verde Valley District Library is a special district library formed in 1959 when the local population voted to tax themselves via property tax to support the library.  This tax assessment is the main financial support for the library and its programs.

The Palo Verde Valley District Library belongs to Region 5 of the Library of California network.  The library is governed by a three member board of trustees whose appointments are approved by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors.
